Cheryl K. Cottrell, M.S., LPC

Cheryl is a licensed professional counselor with experience working with children and families in their homes as well as individual and groups in a school system.  She received her Master's degree in Rehabilitative Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University, Medical College of Virginia and her Bachelor's degree from James Madison University. She is a National Certified Counselor, a member of the American Counseling Association and the Association for Play Therapy.  She has recently completed 150 hours of play therapy training and will complete supervision to become a registered play therapist.  Cheryl uses a cognitive behavior and person-centered therapy approach and keeps an open mind for other therapeutic interventions that help clients.  She has served clients with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, depression, anxiety, gender identity issues, anger management, trauma, family issues and adjustment disorders.
