Katharine Knapp, M.Ed. (Sp. Ed), M.Ed. (Coun.), LPC

Katharine Pumphrey Knapp recently joined the practice of Lewis Weber and Associates, serving as a licensed professional counselor for women and children, especially in the area of trauma, anxiety, depression, and family relational issues. Katharine brings experience in the creative arts and education, has a background in serving a wide population: rural, inner-city, wealthy, disabled, and with Native Americans and other people from multicultural histories. She has a master’s degree in Special Education and one in Counseling. She recently relocated to the Charlottesville area.

Katharine finds that play therapy for children, allows a child to communicate at his or her developmental level. By spending part of each session with the parent/s, she is able to work more effectively with the family system.

Sometimes a woman needs to have the opportunity to evaluate life’s journey through new eyes. By utilizing creative modalities, clients are able to develop new perspectives, often inspiring a change in paradigm and the necessary movement toward freedom. This translates into producing new patterns of greater function in relationships, within the family, the work place, and the self.

Katharine’s Playful Office for Adults, Teens and kids

Here someone is beginning to explore the orange
Sedona Desert sand.

This is a peak in at the play area, the corner with doll
house, the sand tables and the world of miniatures.

Images await the opportunity for self exploration.
The psyche has such wonderful symbols to choose
from, affording each client endless possibilities.

Welcome to the sitting area. This corner invites you to
sit, reflect, and chat about life, self, and new possibilities.

On the wall are collages created by various clients
as a way of exploring the inner Self. Messages from
the inner places are often discovered through images
and stories.

I welcome you to the play corner for Self discovery.
